Rector - Rev. Fr. Silouan Sloan Rolando

  • Fr. Silouan hails originally from rural Southeast Michigan. He received his undergrad education in mechanical engineering from Lawrence Tech but after graduating went into the monastic life with the Franciscan Friars of Cincinnati. During his time as a Friar, Fr. Silouan served as a cantor and choir director in several Carpatho-Rusyn and Ukrainain Catholic parishes in Ohio and Indiana. While studying at Catholic Theological Union and Loyola University, Father left the Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Franciscans and became a member of the Orthodox Church through the witness of the late Archbishop Job of Chicago. Father continued his theological education a few years later at St. Vladimir's Theological Seminary in NY, from where he graduated in 2003. During his time in seminary, Father concentrated his studies in liturgical music and choral conducting in addition to his required Master of Divinity courses. Returning to Chicago, he became choir director first at Christ the Savior, then at St. Michael's UOC in Hammond. Father was ordained a deacon by the Late Archbishop Vsevolod in 2004 and served at Ss. Peter and Paul in Palos Park, IL as deacon for five years. In 2009, he was ordained a priest at their 100 year anniversary by Bishop Daniel. Father continued to serve at Ss. Peter and Paul assisting, then rector, Fr. Taras Naumenko. In September of 2010, Father was assigned pastor of Holy Trinity.
  • Father Silouan resides in Joliet, IL with his wife, Gina, and five children where he teaches Comparative Religion at Joliet Junior College, Slavic Chant at the Antiochian House of Studies, and also works as a programmer in the insurance industry.

Deacon - Rev. Deacon James Stickel

  • Fr. Deacon James is a son of Goshen and Holy Trinity parish where he served first as a reader and then subdeacon. Fr. Deacon lives here in Goshen with his wife, Jade, and children, Eli and Gemma. Fr. Deacon is an optometrist and partner at Cripe, Stephens & Stickel Optometrists. Fr. Deacon's theological education is from the St. Steve's Institute and was ordained by Metropolitan Archbishop Constantine in 2007.
